dexit and the TTC?

Just read an interesting article in the EYE Weekly about the TTC and it's move towards smart cards. Although most major transit systems have already shifted to this type of payment - NYC, Paris, London - the $150 million dollar price tag is a little rich.

So, here's where dexit can lend a helping hand. Currently, it's slowly becoming a convenient form of payment in stores and coffee shops in downtown Toronto. If dexit became the main form of payment for the TTC, they would increase their market 10 fold. So, here's my suggestion.. dexit, subsidize the TTC integration, find a disposable payment method (for tourists, or those of us who don't have a dexit card) and reap the benefits of widespread adoption so that I don't have to pay for a streetcar ride with a $5.
